PEMAHAMAN HADIS TENTANG KEUTAMAAN ILMU DAN MAKNA ULAMA' DALAM KITAB SUNAN ABU DAUD NO. INDEKS 3641

Abstract

Knowledge and scholars are separate but important entities. Knowledge is regarded as light and life, while ignorance is death and darkness. Seeking knowledge is considered the path to paradise and grants a special position in the sight of Allah. Scholars who master knowledge and practise it by spreading Islamic knowledge become guides for other people. Seeking knowledge is also considered a cause of salvation, happiness, and spiritual purity, so Allah rewards good deeds by granting His prayers, the prayers of angels, and the prayers of the inhabitants of heaven and earth. The problem formulation in this thesis is how to study the sanad and ma'anil of the hadith in Sunan Abu Daud no. 3641? and how to understand the hadith about the virtue of knowledge and the meaning of scholars in the book Sunan Abu Daud no. 3641. This research is library research, so the data used comes from two sources, namely primary and secondary data. Then, to understand the hadith about the virtue of knowledge and the meaning of scholars, the author uses the ma'anil hadith method so that the meaning can be understood clearly and more easily. The results of the research indicate that knowledge is a light for its possessor and a path to happiness in this world and the hereafter, as well as a path to the pleasure of Allah SWT. The hadith on knowledge and scholars, analysed in terms of its chain of transmission and text, meets the criteria for a sahih hadith, so the hadith studied by the author can be classified as a sahih hadith.
