CHARACTERISTICS OF MARYAM'S PIETY IN AL-QUR'AN

PERSPECTIVE OF TAFSIR AL-AZHAR BY HAJJ ABDUL MALIK AMRULLAH

Abstract

Maryam is the only woman immortalized in the holy book of the Koran with the name Maryam, namely the 19th surah, different from other women. Maryam is a woman who was born into a pious family with a good lineage, and whose honor was guarded or maintained by Allah. His character can set an example in life, such as his patience in carrying out what is destined for him and his obedience to Allah. In this research, it explains how the interpretation of Qs. Maryam/19:16-21 which explains about Maryam maintaining her honor. Qs. Ali-Imran/3:42 explains about Maryam who was chosen directly by Allah for her purity. Qs. At-Tahrim/99:12 explains Maryam's obedience in carrying out what she is commanded and staying away from what Allah has forbidden. Characteristics of piousness in Al-Azhar's interpretation Maryam is from a religious family, namely Imran, whose lineage is connected to the Prophets. From an early age he was educated by people who obeyed religion and received the best education. Because of her obedience, Maryam surrendered to Allah until all her needs were guaranteed. And Maryam was blessed with being pregnant without a husband and giving birth to the Prophet Isa As, Maryam accepted everything with steadfastness and obedience to Allah's destiny for her.
