Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) are educational institutions that play a crucial role in shaping young generations with noble character, knowledge, and the ability to deeply practice religious teachings. These institutions offer various excellent programs, particularly in the field of the Qur'an. One of the flagship programs is Tahfidzul Qur’an, as implemented at Pondok Pesantren Darut Tauhid Injelan. The tahfidz program at this pesantren began in 2018–2019 and has been directly managed by the son-in-law of the pesantren's leader, who also serves as the Head of the Tahfidz Institution. He personally supervises the recitation and memorization sessions of the students. However, as the number of students increased and the Head of the Institution's schedule became more demanding, a mentor from Pondok Pesantren Walisongo Mimbaan Panji Situbondo was invited to assist in the development of the tahfidz mentoring program. This mentoring initiative has had a positive impact, particularly in enhancing the quality of the students' memorization. The program has been running effectively and has provided significant benefits, especially in improving accuracy in recitation and consistency in memorization. The approach used in this program has also helped students overcome difficulties in memorizing the Qur’an. However, evaluation results indicate that some students still require further guidance to optimize their memorization process more effectively.
